ABOUT

PARK YONG TAE is a ceramic artist based in Goseong, South Korea.

His practice is grounded in an observation of natural processes, particularly the fundamental properties of clay as it responds to fire. Rather than treating clay as a neutral material, he approaches it as a condition shaped by time, gravity, and transformation.

He frequently revisits and reinterprets historical forms, not as acts of citation, but as a means of extending their philosophical and material implications into the present.

White porcelain functions in his work not as a color choice, but as a structural ground—an infinite field through which the intrinsic behavior of clay and the effects of firing can be perceived with clarity.

Central to his practice is the idea of resonance: the work is completed not in isolation, but through the perceptual encounter between the object and the viewer.

Creation, for PARK YONG TAE, is not an episodic act but a sustained force that continuously shapes his artistic practice.
